Happy New Year from the LB Building team. We hope you had a fantastic X-Mas with your family and welcomed in the New Year in style! Our own family headed off to the East Coast to NSW and a beautiful camp spot called Merry Beach. We spent a couple of weeks exploring Huskisson, Jervis Bay, Canberra, Wodonga and Lake Hume.
As with any camping trip and especially with kids in tow there are always adventures and stories to tell, and this expedition was no exception. We had our little man in a rural hospital for a couple of nights (all good now), Luke bogged the ute in the middle of a thunderstorm (a few choice words and slamming of doors from me as I trudged back to camp in the rain carrying 2 kids), Luke flipped himself over his bike on a mountain biking trip (you’ll still see evidence on his face with some nice scars) and the ute had a workout in Kangaroo Valley which left us stranded for an extra day in Canberra as the Toyota team did an emergency fix on the brakes. All in all a great adventure and plenty of slabs of beer and boxes of chocolate for all those wonderful people that pitched in to help out – the nurses, mechanics and fellow campers with tow ropes!
Last year was a fantastic year for us and we wanted to thank all of our wonderful clients, staff and sub contractors for their support. With 2 awards under our belt and several great architectural projects to add to our portfolio we couldn’t wipe the smiles off our faces. To say thank-you we hand delivered our gift to you – our stunning new calendars show casing our favourite buildings around the world. And yes, as many of you asked, we’ve been to each and every country that they were taken from! If you didn’t receive your calendar or you’d like an extra for a family member or friend then please drop me a message at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll have one sent out to you. A big thankyou to Lara from Indie Lime for her design work on the calendars.
In the coming weeks I’ll be working with our photographer to capture the stunning work that the boys completed last year. An extension/ renovation project on a holiday home in Point Lonsdale and a luxurious bathroom renovation in Drumcondra – look out for the photos in our newsletter next quarter. We also have an exciting sustainable addition project on the go on Waratah Street West Geelong which we will update you on next week.
Sadly we also said goodbye to our lead carpenter Andrew who many of you will know has been with us since he started his apprenticeship 5 years ago. We wish Andrew the best of luck with his new ventures.
In his place we have Kenny who has many years of experience as a quality carpenter and fits perfectly with our company values of quality workmanship, attention to detail and outstanding service. Welcome Kenny!
From the team at LB Building we hope you enjoy the rest of this beautifully warm Summer! If you or any of your friends or family would like us to chat to you about your upcoming building project please don’t hesitate to contact us to arrange an appointment today.
Nicole and Luke Beardsley.
